About Me

8-Johns-4747I am a 20 year Air Force veteran.  During my career, I deployed to Kuwait; Iraq; Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; and Bosnia.  Click here to see my military biography.

A graduate of the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, I am happy to be back in the Rocky Mountains of Utah.  I enjoy following BYU football and the outdoor activities that the local mountains have to offer.

I have personally prosecuted or overseen the prosecutions of over 1,000 criminal cases in military, Federal, and State courts including crimes involving sexual assault, drug use, and computer internet fraud.

From 2009 – 2011, I was assigned to the Air Force Criminal Appellate Defense Division near Washington DC.  I represented almost 100 Airmen appealing their court-martial convictions.  During this time, I won an appeal for my client, reducing his maximum possible punishment from 10 years confinement and a dishonorable discharge to 4 months confinement (time already served) and no punitive discharge.

My final assignment was as Deputy Staff Judge Advocate for Twentieth Air Force in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where I oversaw the criminal prosecutions at two Air Force installations and provided guidance to junior attorneys and investigators in successfully prosecuting their cases.

After I retired from Active Military Service, I served for 10 months as the Prosecutor for the City of Pleasant Grove, Utah, before taking a position as Attorney-Advisor for Military Justice at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.

I enjoy the practice of law and the study of our Constitution.  I work hard to ensure I can best help my clients protect their legal rights and to ensure that all their legal needs are met.

I am licensed to practice law in Utah and Wyoming and am admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States.
